Tour prepping, thanks, news, etc…
August 14th, 2005
It’s been a busy year so far for At the Spine. We have regionally released the album First Day of Spring and had a very positive response from fans, press, and independent radio. Amongst a series of great local shows, we’ve done some northwestern states shows, which gave us a chance to see some old fans and friends and also meet some great new fans. Enormous thanks to everyone for your support.
“Take it to the Red States Tour, 2005.” September 15th marks the kickoff of a nine week US tour, returning back to Seattle on November 19th. We will be performing some 66 shows scattered across the continental US of A. We are very excited to be done with some schooling that has largely trapped us here for the last year and a half and get back on the road again (we are less excited about the excruciating price filling the coffers of the oil robber barons in a gas in a van that gets 13 mpg…). For the most up to date schedule, see Shows.
We are happy to be dragging the talented likes of Colin Spring with us on this tour and playing as his backup band when it seems fitting. His new album is an impressive piece of work with and great production and an all star cast of musicians. Visit: www.colinspring.com for more info.
Note: The “Take it to the Red States Tour” is not meant to offend the many wonderful folks in the “red states.” We know there are many beautiful folks there, just as there are many right-wing fundamentalist types here in the “blue zone.” There are good folks and not so good folks everywhere. On this tour, we are going to be celebrating that and the power of music, while simultaneously joyfully confronting the neo-cons and their servants.
Also, thanks to Matt Dente, our new bass player for a much needed revamp and reconstruction of this website!
